The Prelude features Honda’s next-generation e:HEV hybrid system,
pairing a 2.0-litre engine with dual electric motors. In everyday driving, the
electric motor powers the vehicle, while the petrol engine primarily acts as a
generator to recharge the battery, eliminating the need to plug in. It
seamlessly switches between Electric, Hybrid, and Engine modes to deliver
instant torque, smooth performance and outstanding efficiency.
Honda’s bespoke S+ Shift technology has been
developed to enhance your driving pleasure. This unique technology simulates
virtual gear changes, combined with the instant electrified acceleration of a
Honda full hybrid, giving you the responsiveness of a sports coupe while
maintaining the efficiency of a hybrid.
Built for passionate drivers, S+ Shift selects the
optimal gear and keeps the engine in its most efficient range for smooth,
responsive performance. Paddle shifters on the steering wheel offer manual
control, intensifying the experience with sharper shifts and
performance-inspired engine sound.

Yes. The Honda Prelude is only available as a full hybrid. It uses Honda's e:HEV system, which combines a petrol engine with electric motors to deliver responsive performance while supporting everyday efficiency.
You do not need to charge the battery in the Honda Prelude. As a full hybrid, it uses Honda's e:HEV system, which charges the battery automatically while driving through the petrol engine and regenerative braking. There is no need to plug the car in.
On a full tank, the Honda Prelude e:HEV full hybrid can travel up to 472 miles on the WLTP combined cycle. Actual range will vary depending on driving style, road conditions, and selected drive mode. The e:HEV system is designed to balance performance and efficiency automatically while driving.

The Honda Prelude comes with Honda SENSING as standard. The Honda Prelude has a boot capacity of 264 litres with the rear seats in place. With the rear seats folded down, cargo space increases to up to 760 litres, allowing for larger or longer items when needed.
The Honda Prelude has three drive modes: ECON, Normal and Sport. ECON mode optimises fuel efficiency by adjusting the throttle response and air conditioning. Normal mode provides a balanced blend of performance and efficiency. Sport mode sharpens throttle response and steering feel for a more dynamic driving experience.
